CURT HAMBY - Head of Ski Patrol

A Grande took a tumble down Corbet’s Couloir, one of the most dangerous ski runs in North America. Through steep chutes, over cliffs, and into trees, Curt Hamby put the Turtlebox through the ultimate test. The outcome? The speaker didn’t just survive, it kept the music playing all the way down.

Survived the Drop

At 100 Feet the Grande has already survived the famous 20ft free-fall and is now tumbling down a 50-degree, rock-walled chute.

At 50% Grade

The Turtlebox continues it’s downhill beating at an insane 50% grade of hard packed snow and rock.

One Big Tumble

At 600 feet the speaker has survived the famous chute, but has picked up a ton of speed.

And Still Bumpin’

Having covered 1000ft of Americas toughest mountain, the Grande is unfazed and jammin’ on.

Knocked on Wood

To cap it all off, after 1500 feet of picking up speed, the Grande is stopped by a tree!

Tested
on Patrol

Curt Hamby is the Lead Supervisor for the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol, one of the most respected units in the country. At a mountain known for steep lines and real consequence, he’s responsible for skier safety and avalanche mitigation. Curt depends on rugged, reliable gear that can handle extreme conditions. So he decided to see just how far Turtlebox could be pushed.

Corbet’s Couloir

Known as a rider’s rite of passage, Corbet’s Couloir at Jackson Hole is one of the most iconic, and unforgiving lines in North America. A mandatory freefall drop-in, a narrow chute, and sustained pitches pushing 50°. It’s the kind of run that demands respect and punishes mistakes.

"That's hard pack snow, and the only thing that stopped the speaker was it hitting a tree."
