Lee Livesay

Bassmaster Elite Angler

Intro

Born and raised in East Texas, Lee has built a reputation as one of the most exciting anglers on the Bassmaster Elite Series. After spending a decade guiding on Lake Fork, Lee turned his lifelong dream into reality, competing against the best bass fishermen in the world and stacking Elite Series wins along the way. Whether he’s chasing bass on tour, elk hunting in the backcountry, or filming life on the road with his crew, Lee keeps things simple: stay outdoors, keep the music playing, and enjoy the ride.

Lee embodies the “Live Free” lifestyle, turning his passion into his livelihood and making the most of every minute. We’re proud to welcome him to the family.

Q&A

What is your profession? And did you always know this is what you would end up doing, or was it something you stumbled into?
I fish the Bassmaster Elite Series. It’s something I dreamed of doing my entire life, but I didn’t think I could ever get there or afford it. I was a full-time fishing guide for 10 years before starting my career at BASS. I knew I wanted to make a living in the fishing industry, I just didn’t know where exactly I would end up.

When you’re not doing your core pursuit, what else do you enjoy doing?
I love elk hunting and fishing for every other species of fish besides bass when I’m home and off the road.

How do you incorporate music into your life?
Music is a huge part of my life. One of my sponsors is actually Whiskey Myers, so no matter what I’m doing, I always have some jams on.

What does “Live Free” mean to you?
To me, it means pursuing what makes you happy in life for a living.

Any guilty pleasures?
I love drinking a cold beer in the hot tub, watching a good sunset with some jams on.

What’s your hottest take or most controversial opinion?
I don’t think forward facing sonar should be allowed in tournament bass fishing.

What’s the craziest thing that’s happened to you in the wild/on tour?
We have so many crazy stories from life on tour. We document everything and film a YouTube series, Netflix-style, so everyone can come along with us and see the real behind the scenes of professional bass fishing.

Who is your favorite musical artist? Or what are you listening to right now?
My favorite band is Whiskey Myers, but I love all Red Dirt country.

Favorite Turtlebox speaker and why? How do you use it?
My favorite Turtlebox is the Ranger. I carry one with me almost every day, everywhere, whether I’m in the side-by-side feeding animals or out on the water in the boat. Its a small size and the magnetic sides allow me to take it anywhere, anytime.
