Bobby Brown
Freestyle Skier
Intro
From Denver, Colorado, Turtlebox ambassador Bobby Brown is one of the most decorated and progressive freeskiers of all time. A five-time X Games medalist (four Gold, one silver), nine-time Dew Tour medalist (four Gold, three Silver, two Bronze), a Team USA Olympian (Sochi, 2014), and Association of Freeskiing Professionals World Champion (Slopestyle, 2011), Brown has done it all and then some. These days, the 33-year-old can be found building massive jumps in the backcountry, filming with his crew, and hosting his annual event—Red Bull Cascade—which provides a unique format for both professionals and up-and-coming freeskiing athletes to showcase their talents on Brown’s dream all-mountain terrain park features. Turtlebox is proud to partner with Bobby to help facilitate his passion, fuel freeskiing progression, and continue to push the limits of what’s possible outdoors.

Q&A
What is your profession? Did you always know this is what you would end up doing or was it something you “stumbled into”?
Professional skier. It was something I wanted to do since I was 12 years old. It really came down to what action sport can I do in Colorado and I’m so grateful that it came to fruition.

Surfing, drawing, riding my bike or hiking around mountains in Telluride.

I love skiing in New Zealand. The landscapes are so unreal and I’m blown away every time you touchdown in Queenstown.
Bucket list destination you haven’t been yet?
I would love to ride in Japan. I’ve been there twice, but I can’t say I’ve scored on conditions. So, Japan, when the snow is dumping!
You’re stranded on a deserted island - who is coming with you and why?
My wife, Nikki. She’s the best plain and simple.
You get to have drinks with anyone (dead or alive) - who are you calling?
My brother Peter. He’s always down for a good time.
What advice would you give an 18-year-old that wants to do what you do?
Try to enjoy the hard times or at least try and look at them from a different perspective. Just know that it will pass and things will I’ll get better with time.
Favorite wild meat/fish to eat? And in what kind of meal do you prepare it/eat it?
Medium rare ribeye, side of sweet potatoes 🤌🏼
What’s your favorite element of Turtlebox?
The battery life. I’m so used to things dying in cold weather or when they get buried in snow. It blows my mind that after days of freezing cold temps, I’ll turn the Turtlebox on and there will still be multiple bars of battery left.
How do you use your Turtlebox?
I use my Turtlebox every single day. Honestly, whenever I’m doing any activity, I love to have music and having the Turtlebox right there is really important. Getting ready for the hill, stretching in the morning, on the tailgate after a day of skiing, making dinner, it’s always there.
Name the most famous contact in your phone?
Michael Phelps. haha I used to ride for Under Armour back in the day.
