Why Orange Matters to Us
Before we had a brand, a logo, or even a name, there was a homemade orange speaker. That bold, unmistakable color was the first expression of the Turtlebox spirit: loud, wild, and impossible to ignore. It's now a symbol of the early days, and a reminder of why we started this whole thing.
How We Started
Turtlebox began in a garage off of Houston's Buffalo Bayou, where four best friends shared a house, a vision, and a need for a better outdoor speaker. The first Turtlebox was built by hand back in 2012. Since then, the Turtlebox design has evolved, the features have improved, and the lineup has grown. But one thing has stayed the same: that bright orange.
Words From the Four Best Friends:
"The Original Orange is nostalgic to us four and a few hundred friends and family. It’s the color of the units we hand-built over ten years ago in our old house until midnight after our day jobs ended.
We hope that means a little something to the Turtlebox community, but most of all we think people love this colorway. It's hunting in that it's safety orange. It's fishing in the way it reminds you of a buoy or the bobber on your kid's line. And, it's fun. It's finally summer, let the good times roll, crack some beers, put on that song and turn it UP!"
