Chandler Phillips

Golf

Intro

As one of the freshest faces on the PGA Tour, Chandler’s personality is anything but subdued by the spotlight. Raised in the heart of East Texas, he was a standout All-American at Texas A&M & quickly paved the way as one of the most determined golfers on tour. He’s also undoubtedly one of the most entertaining. Known for his witty post-round interviews & seemingly non-nonchalant attitude towards a bad round, he’s about as real as they come. From an early age Chandler & his dad spent a lot of time together on the golf course but potentially even more time in the woods & on the water. As he cultivates his success on the course, his passion for hunting & fishing more often serve as chicken soup for the soul, for this son of the lone star state.

Q&A

What is your profession? Did you always know this is what you would end up doing or was it something you “stumbled into”?
I am a professional golfer on the PGA Tour. I played golf as a kid for fun with my dad all of my childhood, but it wasn’t until high school that I realized this could be something I could actually pursue as a career.

Favorite movie?
Tombstone

Favorite book?
Hank the Cowdog

Most inspiring quote, piece of art, saying, or advice that has impacted the way you live today?
I always live by the phrase “You Never Know” because life is truly unpredictable, so live everyday like it’s your last and do whatever it is you want because you never know what may happen or where life may take you.

When you’re not working, what are you doing for fun?
When I’m not working, I am probably fishing with my dad or planning my next hunting trip with my buddies.

Coolest place you’ve ever traveled?
Évian, France for golf.

Bucket list destination you haven’t been yet?
I would really like to go to Canada because I hear they have awesome duck and goose hunting.

You’re stranded on a deserted island - who is coming with you and why?
I am probably going to bring my buddies that I go duck hunting with because I feel like we have really good survival skills. We could hunt whatever we wanted and then cook it later that night. Plus, I don’t think we would mind sleeping on the ground because we already do that when we go duck hunting sometimes.

You get to have drinks with anyone (dead or alive) - who are you calling?
would get drinks with my grandpa, who sadly passed when I was a child.

What advice would you give an 18-year-old that wants to do what you do?
Never stop grinding and always be your true self.

Any guilty pleasures?
I can eat 10 pouches of Welch’s Fruit snacks a day.

Favorite wild meat/fish to eat? (i.e. venison, dove, quail, king fish, redfish, etc.) And in what kind of meal do you prepare it/eat it?
My favorite wild meat is probably deer and I like it cooked like chicken fried steak.

What’s your favorite element of Turtebox? (battery life, durability, waterproofness, sound, togetherness, elevating experiences)
The battery life is incredible and the sound is amazing. I can charge it for a few hours and it will last me days on the course.

How do you use your Turtlebox?
I use my Turtlebox the most when I’m out practicing or fishing. I can be using the driving range at my facility and have my Turtlebox right there, just listening to music or even when I am on the golf course and no one is around. I like to just blare my music and be in my element, whether that’s on the course or on water.
